Anyone around me getting rain?

Help Support CattleToday:

Yeah, I think I'll be making those big circles tomorrow...and hopefully sat morning too. I can put it out while it's pouring down (and have before) but it don't sling out very well in a downpour.

*potential for flooding rains on these days

Cultivated ground has already been planted. Spent yesterday drilling ryegrass no till will do the same today. If it rains like they say it could stay to wet for me to get in . Especially if the weather patterns turn wet like they say. Of course it seems like vettes always right about the weather around here. He ought to be a weather man , but he's right to dam much. ;-)
Sheriff's department got their helicopters, new hovercraft and fast water rescue team suited up. Flood talk and safety advice all over the news......we've got 2 tenths...
I've got some cows on a leased pasture that has several creeks on it. The creek beds are the only green grass left and that's were their hanging out lately. I'm going to run a couple of rolls of hay over and dump.em on high ground. Probably not necessary but I'll sleep better if it does come a flood.

Finally hit at my place just before bedtime. Listen to the thunder all night and the rain gauge shows 2.68 this morning. More expected so I'm told. Thank you Lord!

There may be some more coming later. The most powerful storm ever to hit the western hemisphere is about to hit western Mexico.
With maximum sustained winds near 200 mph, Patricia is the strongest storm ever recorded in the eastern Pacific or in the Atlantic, said Dave Roberts, a hurricane specialist at the U.S. National Hurricane Center......................................The Hurricane Center in Miami warned that preparations should be rushed to completion, saying the storm could cause coastal flooding, destructive waves and flash floods.

"This is an extremely dangerous, potentially catastrophic hurricane," center meteorologist Dennis Feltgen said.

Feltgen said Patricia also poses problems for Texas. Forecast models indicate that after the storm breaks up over land, remnants of its tropical moisture will likely combine with and contribute to heavy rainfall that is already soaking Texas independently of the hurricane, he said.

"It's only going to make a bad situation worse,"
he said

We got about 2.5 in. overnite and have had close to 2 in. so far today. I'm guessing we will end up with 6-10 by Sunday at this rate. Its coming in waves. Nothing for a few hours and then a torrential downpour for 10-15 minutes. Don't know what we have for grasses here, but am hoping there is a cool season variety that will perk up with this moisture.

Hoping everyone gets some of this!

We had 4.5 inches of rain yesterday. The front tank rose a good 15-18inches. It started raining hard around 9 this morning. It's partly cloudy now with more rain expected tonight and tomorrow.

since about 4am weve a tad over 2 inches of rain.the grass is greening up some.hope we get some more rain over the next few days.

Haha....you know, for 365 days a year I can say it ain't going to rain and be right on about 340 of them.... Odds are pretty good that way rather than crowing about the "good" chances we told about daily.

Does seem I have failed to pay attention to the tropical maps for to long. Had I known about this little disturbance south of Mexico before yesterday afternoon, I may have put some of the oats in the ground.......

Started raining here at 4 this morning. By 8 we had 2 inches. Been gone all day getting some squamous cells cut off my temple. Just checked and we have gotten another 2/10ths. Got a light drizzle going now.

Were creeping up on 10 in so far, and still coming down hard. I am not complaining, but I am starting to get mildly concerned about the water is getting fairly close to the top of the stem wall at one corner of the house.

Hang in there GB, I think its headed your way over the weekend

Been seeing your area on the weather reports. Some places reporting 12-14 they said....stay safe.

1/2" here today.

I think your (and my) areas were always forecast to get it on Sat and Sunday, so I'm not surprised that we have gotten none or just a sprinkling so far.
We'll just have to wait and see what Sunday and Monday brings...
