Rain in the south

Help Support CattleToday:

Still raining! I hate to complain about it but sure wish we could save some of this up for June/July/August. Bet we are close to getting 25% of a whole year's worth over the past 3 days.
Not hardly here we average 56 to 60" a year, we're 30" behind and have got 3.7" since this system started.

I think I have gotten more than 4" in Willis, and I watch the radar on my phone and it seems like there would be more than 4" in Groveton. I mean it's been a steady rainfall for 2.5 days and a lot of times raining hard as hell. According to the weather man, it ain't over. Still another full day and night of it.

Doesn't matter if it's 10" it still hasn't made up the deficit.
Takes a lot to restore the ground water. Our wettest months are January through June other than a tropical event and 2004 was the only one I remember without a tropical event that was over average.
Year of 2004 was 99" 2017 with Harvey was over a 100".
Those years have been the anomalies.

Still raining here...I'll take what I can get. However, when you show up to work and find that one of your volunteer park hosts has driven their camper to town but forgot to unhook water and electrical thus ripping most of it out of the ground and spend 4.5 hours in the rain digging it all up by hand and repairing everything, the rain gets a little old...I am soaked...but the repair was successful.

Ain't it amazing how much tougher we all are? Last week we had on coveralls and sweatshirts to do our chores. This week, we're just in our shirtsleeves and raincoats

The bottom just fell out here. Went to dentist at 4, and it was cold and windy when I got out of the truck and walked in. .Got out at 5:30, and the wind had changed to warm. Felt like standing by a heater vent,. Then about 6:30, bottom fell out with the wind blowing it horizontal.

Last wave of rain supposed to hit about 3:00AM…y'all east of here buckle up…it's headed your way…
We're at 6" and it's still coming down.
Didn't go to Wednesday service water over the road and canceled tomorrow's fishing trip.
It has it raining here all night, water won't go down for 8 to 12 hours afterwards.

Have a friend in Trinity County... they have had over 9 inches, showed pics of the guys working on a power pole... that they normally can walk/drive to... had a flat bottomed boat to get out there.... o_O

Were they along Hwy 94 in that Neches river bottom?
don't know…I was responding to farmerjan

Between the rain and the thawing from such a deep freeze, the ground has no bottom here. Places that haven't ever been muddy are now muddy. I put out hay yesterday and there is a road that goes from my house to the hay barn, we ran dump trucks on it a few weeks ago with no problem, my little Massey was cutting deep ruts yesterday going down it. There is an old community school that is now a church that I pick up several kids at on the bus and turn around in their gravel parking lot and have for several years without issue, yesterday I thought I was going to get stuck. I made some deep ruts in that parking lot. One of the county road foremans said they've never seen roads get this bad this quick.

I don't miss this one dang bit!!

I was THERE in the flood of record.
