we are milking 3 herford x holstein cows
one of those had a beef shorthorn heifer calf.
if she looks alright we will milk her to otherwise keep her as a beef since she is 75% beef but i think shorthorn generaly has more milk.
we have about 10 beef shorthorn x holstein heifers that will enter the milking line within a year.
one just freshened today to a Randy heifer calf.

Samurai
Samurai is a fleckvieh bull from germany.
Progeny of Samurai

we use all top bulls from Bavarian Fleckvieh Genetics and cross them to our holsteins.
we started crossbreeding 21 months ago so our oldest are just over a year old.
this is a dual purpose breed and in the southern area of germany over 95% of the dairys there are flecklvieh.
i went to germany to see it for myself.
the are more efficient than the holstein so that is why we are crossing to them.
i encourage you to browse thru this site.
