is the looking bad and bad health a reaction to the health care system or is it laziness, bad eating, and bad habits?

All the Trump government and the republicans will do is fart and fall as usually. They cannot decide on any thing to do together

if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor

if you want to keep your health care plan, you can keep your plan.

how much did premiums raise? My wife and I were at around 300 / m for great coverage.. that went to over 700/m... then with kids its over 1200/m. and I have to pay CASH everytime.. as the insurance would cost me 3x, since it covers nothing.

yea.. who did that again?

I am one of those as I may have a soft heart, but I hate to see anybody go hungry and people should receive health care. Neither of these should be abused thou. Every time out in public at least 50%+ of the people walking around I see look to be in bad health and like they don't feel good.
That's along the lines of, if you won't help yourself, why should you receive or deserve help. I'm all for helping someone who helps themselves, or those that can't help themselves.

I'd really like to bring a group with me everyday to show exactly how these type of people live.

You will not feel sorry for them, i guarantee you, especially when you see they are bringing in more money then most people who work.

If you live long enough which sometimes I doubt, you'll figure out there's more to life than money.

yes, which is why i'm going back to full time farming and leaving the 'land of money' to make pennies and be happy with the land and animals.

that doesn't change the fact that these people make more then the average worker, live and eat for free, and do nothing but sit around on facebook, the TV, and on the front porch.

Brute, sorry to hear about your son's condition - but - that is a great program.

I liked the sound of the program also. Also good luck to your son.

Its a leaky heart valve. Its actually really common. He has some lifting weight restrictions but otherwise he is good. The do echos every year to monitor it. At some point in his life he will have to get it repaired. The main concerns is getting infections and things like that.

There are more and more drs doing these group deals now days. They don't want to even deal with insurance companies. That is the start of the correction IMO. The insurance companies are bringing this on themselves.

This is a tough one for sure. But to require a private business to cover someone who has a high risk isn't a free market place. But to deny those who have previously had insurance of coverage isn't right and probably not legal. My guess is the insurance companies will raise the rates and make insurance unaffordable to those of us who have preexisting conditions. Just trying to keeping another promise to those that elected him.

This is exactly right.
How can a insurance company be expected to take on someone they know they are going to lose money on. ?
By making everyone else pay. That's not a free market. The first thing the medical industry needs is the right to run credit checks and refuse service.

If I filed a claim every time I put a scratch on my truck I would get dropped like a hot potato.

Our society has devolved into a mix n match system of socialism, (when its convenient or we fear for our safety) and free market (when it suits us). Whatvever happened to ..." life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness..." instead, many will trade their liberty away for govt provided existence- housing, food, healthcare, education, etc. It will never be enough for people. Whatever you give, they will expect and feel entitled to more. Our politicians will oblige until there is nothing left. Fools want to blame the Presidents, Congress, or Courts (both right and left leaning), when the real power is held by unelected bureaucrats. This brief video just scratches the surface.

That is very true. Im being optimistic saying that deal we are on is the start of a correction... my brother says its the start of socialism. The middle class goes away with the insurance companies. The upper class pays cash for dr.s and the lower class goes on govt health care.

That's interesting Brute. I thought it sounded more "free market". People paying money for a service...their own money! Did I misunderstand something? Some believe one of the ways to 'save' or healthcare system is for the physicians to take the power back from the insurance companies... :!:

That is over simplified. First, those agencies are founded in congressional law - Acts of Congress. Their roles are closely guided by statues and regulations - all based on congressional authority. It is the function of Congress to oversee the agencies they empower with the help of the Office of Management and Budget. There is a clique used in enforcement agencies - From whence does your authority come? From the US Congress.

What I see is the real problem - Congress no longer represents the people. Their interest is invested in themselves.

I agree with this. Oversimplified? I disagree. The Congress has shirked its responsibilities and to say these bureaucrats are closely guided by Congress is an oversimplification. Nonetheless, rules and requlations are implemented weekly, if not daily , by non elected men and women. As far as enforcement goes; I was taught Congress makes laws, and The Executive branch enforces those laws; not Congress.

I agree with you. That is how I personally see it.

He does work with the HSA plans though also. You can pay him with a hsa card.

Our company is really pushing the hsa by making big matches. The hsa plans are a great deal going forward if we can get young people to use it.

Imo the hsa plans are a great way the govt stepped in to the free market and actually made some thing that works, for the working class.

Brad, the adjectives we use are not important. The facts are. Federal agencies are authorized by legislation. Congress has extensive oversight obligations. That is why the administrators are called annually before the Congress. If Congress is shirking its duties then shame on them. The analogy of the agencies to "Kings" is not accurate. The only power agencies have is what is vested in them by congress.

That goes against everything the medical community stands for. Yes, there's a ton of petty medical visits, but there's also a lot of folks who barely live day to day.

Ron, I believe you may be reacting to the noun; "king" ;-)
The authors point is a valid one; namely, that men and women that are not elected by the people, are dircetly implementing policies and procedures that impact John Q. Citizen on a daily basis. That is not how our government was designed to function; AEB our current "quasi socialist" situation as well as over 100 years of initial govt history. Surely we can agree that our government is inundated with bureacracy? Perhaps, so much so that Congress can not provide effective, accurate oversight?(of a responsibility that is charged solely to them  )
