I thought it was funny and don't see where it's "unprofessional" in the slightest sense. Sounds like a few of yall need to lighten up an live just a little. No harm, no foul.

Sure glad that I live in a small town. Sometimes our Sheriff department will escort the high school teams to the county line with lights and sirens blazing, just for the heck of it.

I don't live in town, but nearby Florence is less than a thousand. The chief of our volunteer fire department is really quite outstanding. I can guarantee any of his volunteers using their lights with a approved reason would get the boot.
They , fire and police do sometime make a impromptu parade for a big event. But to compare that with what amounts to Hijinxs described in the op is idiotic.

The problem with pranks of this sort, and claiming 'no harm/no foul' is the foul part is known ahead of time--you know/knew beforehand (or should have known) it is unprofessional and potentially dangerous.
I've seen kids, in pickups with aftermarket air horns do the same thing--pull right up behind someone at a red light and lay on that air horn, scaring the begezzus out of the driver of the car in front of them, and sometimes cause them to pull out into traffic thinking they were about to be rear-ended by a big truck. Or do it to a pedestrian or bicyclist on the side of the road. I'm sure the driver got a big kick out of the reaction, but it's not something I would expect an adult to do and certainly not from a civil servant type of professional.

The 'no harm' part tho, is not revealed until after the fact. There's a very long list of 'harmless' pranks that have gone awry due to adverse reactions from the 'target' of the prank, sometimes ending tragically. This time, it did not, but you never know that until after the deed is done and over.

Most of us have participated in such foolish behavior in our mis-spent youth, but learned not to as an adult.

When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child, I reasoned as a child: but when I became [an adult], I put away childish things.

Stop being defensive and rationalizing it and just learn from it going forward.

Find it even MORE funny that so many of you jumped on your high horses and jumped my case for laughing at this.
Well too dam bad!

You were not there on this run, or the one before or the one before that! Do you know what our stress level was? Ain't going to tell ya.

You tell me I am unprofessional well that is just your opinion.

My PT's have a very different opinion of me and I know for a fact everyone of them would defend me against everyone of you snobs any day of the week. when they walk up and give me a hug and the family members are hugging me and thanking me for being there those are the people's whose opinions matter, NONE of your's!

Don't like my posts then don't read them.

ETA! The Lucas device is used for chest compressions on a PT in cardiac arrest in long transports.

Glad you got a posse to defend you and stand behind you. Your repsonse is pretty childish to say the least. Fyi if you dont want people reading your post stop posting, reading post is the point of a forum.

Ok, now I'm confused.
First you tell everyone to google it so it will explain why it was fun but now you can't tell.

"Oh and that was the first run in which we took our Lucas device with us. Google that!"

I'm just sort of lost here.

Has nothing to do with the 'story'.
Official work related jargon. It's supposed to impress people.

I was going to stay outta this one........
But lady, you sound like a real self absorbed idiot! You are throwing out bits and pieces to try and impress people with what you do, and you are no where near a "professional" at anything. I can tell by how you speak.

I have been a nurse for 25 years, I know a lot of medical professionals. We may play jokes and have fun with eachother, but we try to always remain professional with the public. The public depends on you, (for what ever reason) and "playing jokes" like that is unacceptable to say the least.
You disrespected the public and were abusing the tools of your trade.
You must be a volunteer, because I do not know any employer that would put up with that nonsense.

A parade, a celebration ect. Where sirens and such are expected is a whole different ball game.

   Very well said!

Very well said branguscowgirl. Being in this line of work myself i find it very troubling for someone to use the "stresses" of the job as an excuse to act in this manner. Sure its stressful at times, sure we have a way of joking amongest ourselves to deal with it, but when it comes to jokes that involve the public, thats way out of line. Looks to me theres only one in this thread whose riding a high horse and to prideful to see it.

Maybe next time she should just stick to carrying around an air horn down at the Sack O Suds and sneak up behind all of the shoplifters, embezzlers and lazy employees, thereby doing a real public service and leaving the inconsiderate drivers to the police.

Seems to me always trying to brag or looking for sympathy, make the other person the bad guy, is the main points of her posts. I know the stresses of the job and other public job as I have two sons who are EMTs(full time), Volunteer firefighter, and police. I see it when they have bad days on the ambulance and shifts then take it to heart especially when I see it later was a youngster. The have never pulled a stunt like that for where they work it is a firing offense and they are professional about their jobs and take them seriously.

Well excuse me, pardon me, forgive me almighty CT Forum crowd!

I hear by promise to no longer share anything I think is funny or anything else.

Guess I will go "pout" now as sky said or as I like to say get out from in front of the computer and off the internet and live my life.

I hope that she keeps her promise.

This is the kind of thing that sometimes goes viral and makes poor decision makers regret their choices. What town does she live in? Let's see if the taxpayers there who all love her find it as funny as she does.
