It's a bummer she is only 1/4 simm. But her numbers look good. The picture would be better if it was a direct side shot. Is that the dam of that mating, since she has the same tattoo or the resulting calf? Where did the red pop in if the sire is an angus who is documented homozygous black?
The sire is a son of War Party, who Inyeti has used and got a huge calf (gaining extremely well) from. Inyeti, have you ran the EPD's on Megadorous? Just pondering...

Yes the photo is the Dam of the Planned mating to Tour Of Duty
Z 01 is out of a HT 1/2 SM 1/2 AN Mytty In Focus Daughter, which is kind of confusing since the Red gene came thru the Simmental side, which goes back to Leachman Red Baldy on the bottom. Also her Sire is GW Predestined 701T who is also HT Black. Z 01 is Tested Free of DD. Z 01 is also the highest API/TI red 1/2 SM 1/2 AN breeding age female in the United States. She also has no Legacy bloodlines (e.g. No CNS Dream On or Hooks Shear Force, etc).

We own the highest API/TI red cattle in the US and our choice to breed Z 01 to Tour of Duty was because he has no 036 or MYTTY in his background. We have embryos out of Z 01 x Brown Commitment in the tank already, if anyone wants her red genetics someday they are available. We are waiting for Red Angus to waive our fees for this registration (Z 01 x BC), which is the highest API/TI of any red animal ever born in Simmental or Red Angus. Here is that animal >

Never heard of Megadorous........

And Yes, Simangus™ is now a Trademark.

I find her pretty unimpressive from the picture. As FireSweep said a better picture may help that.

It looks like she has good length, but not much fill in the hind end.

RegCowman, you guy's are the real deal. If someone would like to see your cattle and operation, can they still stop buy? Hopefully ya'll will bring a couple of bulls to the FL bull test. I'm interested in seeing how they will perform in the real world, not just in the numbers world.

You folks that don't know are in for a education. RegCowman is a frequent flyer here. Had about as many user names as a inbredredneck. None of us will ever have the top notch cattle this feller has.

I think this is JustSimmental, red. He was always playing the numbers, and wasn't to worried about what the animal actually looked liked or preformed. Just wanted to make his numbers look the best through "planned breeding" as he called it.

We have always been about performance, I don't know what these guys are talking about, but we have normally taken our bulls to Clemson its closer for us. About performance-- we are in the THE program in Simmental, which keeps track of an individuals performance and their calves performance throughout their reproductive life. All of our cows live in the real world as production animals and not fed with a feed bucket their whole life. These other folks are probably unaware of that and that most of the Simmental breeders in the US are show cattle only and do not take part in the Total herd Enrollment (THE) program. Even though we have never been into the showing sector and really believe those animals are substandard, we do donate a show heifer to a young person annually.

For example:
EDR U 10 (2008) is a Black PBSM cow out of Lucky Dice and 3 C Wally. She carries a red gene and has produced some really good red calves over the years. She has no Legacy bloodlines, which are show lines. Her past progeny are as follows:
Progeny Report > https://herdbook.org/simmapp/action...T&template=progenyReport&animalNumber=2424635
Her first calf was a Rookie Son that weighed in at 865 lbs at 190 days of age - he was sold post-weaning
Her second calf was a Red 3/4 Bull out of GW Predestined that was high gaining and selling red Simangus at Clemson > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AlqspjJ7Yl4
Her 3rd calf is a young red PBSM cow out of GW Redestined 642 X and is being flushed this year to a Simbrah Bull for Genex > https://herdbook.org/simmapp/action...ntSubmit_displayAnimal=T&animalNumber=2662467
We will more than likely send those Simbrah Bulls to FL Bull test then pull them out before they sell where the best one will head to Genex and the rest come home for Private treaty sales here. These red bulls will be the highest API/ TI 3/4 SM 1/4 BR ever born (No Legacy)
Her 4th calf is a black 1/2 SM 1/2 AN bull out of GAR Selective and one of the few Selective Sons in the US Tested free of all genetic defects NHF AMF CAF DDF
https://herdbook.org/simmapp/action...plate=T&template=genetic&animalNumber=2779888
Her 5th calf has the same breeding as her 4th calf
https://herdbook.org/simmapp/action...ntSubmit_displayAnimal=T&animalNumber=2905243
You are welcome to come see our operation anytime.

Legacy show lines eh? That has to be the single dumbest thing ever spoke from someone who's claiming to know Simmental cattle.

Of course Legacy is Show cattle bloodlines -- get real --CNS Dream On / Hooks Shear Force
2015 EPDs on Top 50 Sires Used
(Based on progeny born from 1/1/2013 to 12/31/2013)
Here are the top 10
2474338 < Legacy + 600U 4 times in his background = grossly Inbred
2540315 < Legacy
2414537
2416547 < Legacy
2470581 < Legacy
2289889 < Legacy
2370545
2483888
2081939 < Legacy
2171761 < Legacy

No one in the production cattle business would be using these Legacy Bulls -- these are show lines only, really. Maybe a few exceptions to that statement, but overall most are show lines. Legacy being grossly overused in Simmental and simmental influenced cattle even leaching into Simbrah these days. In fact there are only 2 red PBSM bloodlines in the US now in the PB category --- Legacy and WS. Even in black simmental and simmental influenced cattle most have Legacy in their background and many have it more than once in their background now, but that's ok for a show animal --that rarely makes it in the production realm anyway.

I can mate them on paper to, just can't screen shot it quite as nice as you can. Here is a Right Answer x Jumpstart x Magnum hereford cow.

Sure looks good on paper don't it and best part higher API and TI than any of your matings ain't it?
