Here in Texas we register our brands at the local county clerk's office every ten years.

Here in Texas we register our brands at the local county clerk's office every ten years.

Correct, in Texas you go to the county courthouse with a drawing of the brand you wish to register. They will look thru the brand book to make sure their is not another brand already registered like the one you want, and if not, you pay your money and they record your brand. In Texas the brand is good for that county and must be re-registered after so many years.

It may be a little different procedure in Arkansas, but that is the general process.
