Mike,

He is my pick of the bulls too. We will be using him quite a bit in the future.

I agree with Mike on 7507 :)

Now for my stupid question:
Are 7507 and 7510 twins, by any chance?

No they are not twins, but they are ET brothers. We have another one as well.

The ringworm will go away, he is not pot bellied, and he is average in length, but real thick. As far as high flank goes. They may be a bit, but they are only 8 to 9 months old. Just weight till they get some age on them.

I know of alot of guys who wean at this age and their calves are only weighing 700 to 750 lbs or less.

Thanks for the comments!!!

Very nice, Ireally like 7507 and his dam. I am curious if the calves are 8-9 months and 7519 had an adj ww of 645 and now weighs 1003 are you saying he has gained 358 pounds in roughly 60 days?

Yes they are currently 8 to 9 moths old.

They were weaned on Sept 12 and his birth date is March 7 and his actual weaning weight was 598 lbs at 189 days old Since then he has done really well. All the bulls in the lot are averaging right at 3 lbs a day where he is gaining 4.4 lbs a day. He has been weaned for 92 days and if my math is right he has gained 405 lbs weighing 1003 lbs yesterday.

Thanks

That is great, at that rate he will he will be a whopper by sale day. Good luck with the sale.

Ok, now I'm really confused.

If they're NOT twins, then how the heck can they have the same dam (ok, and sire) and be of the same age (since they were both weaned at 8 to 9 months of age)??? Or am I missing out on something? :help:

Sorry for the consufion.

They are ET brothers, which = Embryo Transplant

We flushed their dam and got 5 eggs. Put them in recip cows and got 4 live calves. 3 bulls and 1 heifer

No worries...I completely missed the ET part.

Thank you for clearing that up. :)

Dont confuse potbellied with capacity. That first bull has capacity, not a pot belly. The cattle industry as a whole could use a little more capacity.

well done on great cattle, the 7505 bull is something special.

Your 902 cow is as close to grass phenotype perfection as you are likely to get.

The higher flanks at their age is a pretty good indication of high growth potential, and wouldn't bother me one bit. If they were still high flanked at two years of age that would make it a different kettle of fish, but I'll bet my bottom dollar that won't be the case.

Now those are cattle to pattern after as far as I'm concerned. Not my breed of choice but can't deny those are some fine cattle.IF I had the chance I would love to own some like that dam.
As for the bulls, they look good to me!! I really like that first sire. He'd do great on some Brahman cows.Have you kept any of his daughters, if so how are they? Are they good mothers?
