Low H.P. Round Baler?

Help Support CattleToday:

Hi all, :)
Ok I did it, I bought a New Holland 850 for $750.00, I got it in Riverton KS. The Gentleman told me that it needed nothing, & that it was ready to bale hay. And he said that he would buy it back if I did not like it. He gave me the operators/parts manual, extra sprocket, & a floor chain.
What do you think? I'm excited,,,,,,,,,untill it breaks. All I need now is rain! This could be a train wreck!?

One thing about the 850 is that they shouldn't stop making parts anytime soon. I feel you'll be happy with it. When you get it out don't be discouraged if you do have problems. I personally wouldn't cut more than a few rounds around the outside of one of my fields the first time. Also pull it into the barn lot and run it for a while, listening closely for bearings that may be squealing of heating up just slightly. It may be time well spent. Hope to hear back from you.
