It is great to hear of your daughter's accomplishments. Ours left home after graduation 14 years ago. I thought for sure I would have to find a teaching job in Athens to look after her. I sure was wrong. She got involved in a pharmacy fraternity and had the time of her life. She was awarded a scholarship each year and worked at CVS in Loganville on weekends and after classes some days.
You will miss her, but she will keep you busy attending things that she is in. Julie did a residency in Greenville, SC and a specialty residency at the Cleveland Clinic. We had the time of our lives visiting her in these places. Then she worked at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte for five years and got a job offer too good to turn down at a large teaching hospital in New York. Have not been able to get up there yet, as my mother requires a lot of care right now, but hope to go before long.
We are still waiting for a grandchild. Hopefully, one will come before long. Until then, I will have to make do with my grandcalves!
Good luck to your daughter. I am sure that she will succeed in whatever she attempts. She sounds like a really great girl who already knows where she is going in this world and I know her goals are high. Enjoy these next years with her as much as you can.
I forgot to tell you how much fun it will be to help her move from one apartment to another! That went on many times with us. She even did her pharmacy rotations in Augusta at the Medical College and moved twice while there. Believe me the fun is just beginning.
