Its weaning time again

Help Support CattleToday:

Thanks for the kind words and yes I am proud of her.

Hook, she doesn't know where she will go just yet. She is, after all, a woman and this is her first offer so she wants to hold out and see just what she can get at a few other places first.

Do you inherit the fancy chicken coop and the chickens?

I do but I seriously doubt I'll make as much money off them as she did. The Bug is shrewd.

It is great to hear of your daughter's accomplishments. Ours left home after graduation 14 years ago. I thought for sure I would have to find a teaching job in Athens to look after her. I sure was wrong. She got involved in a pharmacy fraternity and had the time of her life. She was awarded a scholarship each year and worked at CVS in Loganville on weekends and after classes some days.
You will miss her, but she will keep you busy attending things that she is in. Julie did a residency in Greenville, SC and a specialty residency at the Cleveland Clinic. We had the time of our lives visiting her in these places. Then she worked at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte for five years and got a job offer too good to turn down at a large teaching hospital in New York. Have not been able to get up there yet, as my mother requires a lot of care right now, but hope to go before long.
We are still waiting for a grandchild. Hopefully, one will come before long. Until then, I will have to make do with my grandcalves!
Good luck to your daughter. I am sure that she will succeed in whatever she attempts. She sounds like a really great girl who already knows where she is going in this world and I know her goals are high. Enjoy these next years with her as much as you can.
I forgot to tell you how much fun it will be to help her move from one apartment to another! That went on many times with us. She even did her pharmacy rotations in Augusta at the Medical College and moved twice while there. Believe me the fun is just beginning.

William, it sounds like your daughter really has a good head on her shoulders only I can't understand why she would move from God's country to New York but we are all allowed to make mistakes. (Am very familiar with all the places you mentioned) The Bug love chemistry and math. I think this all started several years ago when she got a bad grade on some liberal arts class where the subjectivity was graded more than the mechanics. I talked to her about this and how sometimes in classes like this you have to take into consideration the person's beliefs who will be reading/grading the paper. She didn't think it fair but she understood and then I told her that is the beauty of the sciences. There is no grey area. Its either right or wrong and from there she learned to love the sciences and she just loves chemistry. (She must have gotten that from her mother because I only endured it.)

Congrats Jogee....be sure to read that lease agreement on the chicken tractor VERY carefully.....gotta be satisfying to see youngans do well and grow into their own.

My daughter is in New York mainly because that is where her husband is from. He moved to Raleigh after he graduated from pharmacy school. She met him in the pharmacy fraternity that they were both in and attended conferences. I sure hated to see her leave God's Country. She is our only child.
Her job in Charlotte had gotten very stressful. She is a clinical pharmacy specialist in infectious diseases. I asked God to send her to a less stressful job, but I sure did not have New York in my mind. Now with the Ebola outbreak, I have to trust Him to take care of her and keep her safe as she helps others.
Please keep us posted on The Bug. I know she will do well in all that she attempts. Hope she will visit UGA before she decides.
I do love to hear about young people who are working hard to reach their goals. We do not share enough about them. Instead we dwell too much on the ones who are going the wrong way. We will always have that kind.

She's been to UGA and its high on her list. Her friend is really putting the pressure on her to go there with her so they can room together. She may go up there again next month to visit but I suspect if she sees the fine examples of humanity around the journalism complex it will make her sick. I know it did me.

The Bug made the front page of the newspaper. Nice to see a family member on the front page for doing something other than burning a flag or drug charges. She sure has made her family and teachers proud. One of her teachers has invited her to come to Columbia SA with her for the summer to hone up on her Spanish and she has several other exciting offers as well. So many doors have been opened to her. I hope she continues to make wise choices because her life is just beginning. Would appreciate your keeping her in your prayers.

You have a fine young lady there Jogeephus, but you knew that already.
You are truly blessed my friend. Is her puppy as big as a calf yet?

Congratulations to The Bug! She has earned herself some fine credentials. I know what you mean about weaning time again, my youngest is finishing high school next week and going off to school too in the fall.

Thanks all. We are proud of her and appreciate all the people who helped her along the way. She's had some wonderful teachers.

Bitter sweet is it not? I don't know what we are going to do with all the children gone. And what are they going to do without us?!

What a beautiful young lady who has already accomplished so much! I know you and your wife are very proud. You have done a magnificent job with her. I wish more parents would wake up and see that they must work with their children. Schools cannot do it all.
I am glad that she chose UGA. I hope that she will love it as much as my daughter did. I was just talking this morning to a man going to Athens for the first time on business. I love Athens and the beautiful drive up there through Monticello and Madison. There are so many good restaurants too.
Again congratulations and I will keep her in my prayers along with all other graduates at this important time in their lives.

Williamsv, I have to admit, Georgia was not my choice but hers. I just think its too big but she was impressed during her visit and chose it over some really good colleges that would have looked better on her resume. But I lead with a loose reign so its her decision and I'm sure it will be right for her.

We encouraged her but we couldn't have done it without all the great teachers in our school system who inspired her to learn. Not only were they her instructors but they have formed friendships built on mutual respect which I think will last a life time.
