A real Beefmaster is not black

Correct and I wish they would stop trying to convince people they purebred. If they are black, then something jumped the fence.

I have no problem with Beefmaster cows/crosses..we have several that have been in the herd going way back. But go to a Collier Farms sale, 100% red, mostly solid colored or with a little white on the belly.

Beefmasters can be bred up from other breeds, the story is the black ones were bred up from Brangus.

No advantage there using one Brahman composite to get black hair on another one.
At least if you run Brangus your not BSing yourself.
