My wife and I adopted three girls. Their social plight is made even more difficult by the fact that they are african american (perhaps I will get trounced for using the politically correct version of their ethnic heritage, but I've seen first hand the damage other terms can do to a little girl). The conversation always turns to the issue of or jokes about political correctness, sex, or that women just can lift as much as a man.
On the original topic, it seems to me that offering separate sessions for women is pandering to a continued sense of the inferiority of women. Sure it is much less prevalent in our culture than in other cultures, but the core is the same (imo) and this, to me, is an example of an untruth I don't care to perpetuate.
