Questions for dairyman

Q, Why is your protocol for worming your dairy cows?
What product do you use?
Thanks
John

I worm 1 time a year in the spring and I use Cydectin or Eprinex pour on as they have no milk with drawl Suzanne
I have also used Ivermect injectable at dry off if they are going to have more than 60 days dry

We always wormed every cow when she was dried off as well as when she freshened. Also wormed her anytime she had to come through the working chute for anything. Would rotate between Ivomec and Safeguard drench.

When we milked used Eprinex pour on, on entire milk herd one time and for 24 hrs the cows all acted up...nervous
twitchy and kicking at machines. After that we switched to pour on at dry off.

No longer milk, but I would suggest...
Cydectin Injectable for the heifers at 500 lbs when they are being vaccinated.
then do the heifers again with Cydectin pour on when preg checking
Cydectin pour on at dry off for the cows.
Stick with the same brand until it doesn't work...then switch to a new brand.
