Another choice would have been to have told the officer when he called to say he'd be a while that it was okay. "I'm armed and they're now on the phone calling for friends I'm guessing. But not to worry, I can hit anything I aim at.

Bet he'd have been there in a couple minutes. The only reason you called was to try to avoid shooting them. I'd have made that clearer. Know what I mean? Use your vehicle as cover and never let them get close.

Gimpy, that's sortof what I did. I called 911 a second time when it began to escalate and warned the dispatcher things were beginning to heat up. I'm surprised she didn't keep me on the line the second time. I would have. I wanted them to have a record of what was going on so it could easily be backed up later if it came to that. The biggest thing I learned in this whole ordeal was the power of a phone. Its bad when thieves can have backup quicker than the police and I felt it worth mentioning.
