Chicago was much better when it was just hog butcher for the world and the wickedness most visibly came from the painted women under the gas lights luring the farm boys even tho it's crookedness then was about the same as today, with the gunman killing and going free to kill again..........I suppose things haven't changed all that much since 1914 eh C.S.?

There's something like 9.5 million people living in the Chicago metro area. That's more people than New Jersey, Virginia, Washington, etc. In fact, if it were a state it would rank about 11th. If you look at in regards to crime in those states, it's similar. It's just sensational b/c it's fun/cool/hip to focus on gun violence in the news right now.
