He was up in Wyoming and drew a bull no man could ride
He promised her he'd turn own well it turned out that he lied
The Beaches of Cheyenne - Garth brooks

Well, the ponies stunk and the air was still
In that dusty circle behind the ferris wheel
This old guy smelling of smoke and rum
Swung me up and sat me down on one

sit tall in the saddle, hold your head up high keep your eyes fixed where the trail meets the sky and live like you ain't afraid to die

The Ride , Chris Ledoux ?

She never knew what his calls might bring
With a cowboy like him, it could be anything
And she always expected the worst

I thought you and me were something special
Thought you thought that way too
Now I know that this old boy just ain't the
best you think you'll ever do

it aint cool to be crazy about you

It ain't cool to be crazy about you,
It ain't suave or debonair
To let you know I care, like I do.
It ain't smart to be so reckless with my heart.
(I) should have known right from the start
I'd end up like a fool; believe me, it ain't cool.

Ya'll are way too quick for me but I enjoy this thread more than most. How about, "so ride yourself over the fields, and you make all your animal deals"... Anybody else from the early 70's?

......we lived in a poor sharecroppers shack,
the neighbors down the road were poor like we were
but our skin was white, and theirs was black.....

desert moon,, lights the freeway up ahead
chevy van, how i wished that you could fly
got to get to her and tell her i was wrong
but im still such a long, long way from home

Thick as a brick - Jethro Tull

one of my favorite bands growing up, seen em in concert a few times, always a great show.

Tomorrow is the one day I would change for a Monday
with freezing rains melting and no trains running
and sad eyes passing in windows flimsy
and my seat rocking from legs not quite matching

Black Sunday....Jethro Tull
I saw them in London in concert way back when I was a mere teenager of 16.
