It is all very simple. Colin Powell is very good. Jackson calls him an "Uncle Tom". Blacks have all formed their own racists coalitions from everything from Miss Black America to you name it. Barack Obama is now getting slammed as an "Uncle Tom" by blacks because he is not an extreme racist. Mike Tyson is a rapist and viewed as a hero.

In California if you write "Black owned Business" on your store front it is not vandalized. We all saw that on the television over and over. Who is the racists?

The longest war America has ever fought is the Dirty War, and it is not over. It has lasted 30 years so far and claimed more than 25 million victims. It has cost almost as many lives as the Vietnam War. It determined the result of last year's congressional election.

Yet the American news media do not want to talk about the Dirty War, which remains between the lines and unreported. In fact, to even suggest that the war exists is to be discredited. So let's start suggesting, immediately.

No matter how crime figures are massaged by those who want to acknowledge or dispute the existence of a Dirty War, there is nothing ambiguous about what the official statistics portray: for the past 30 years a large segment of black America has waged a war of violent retribution against white America.

And the problem is getting worse, not better. In the past 20 years, violent crime has increased more than four times faster than the population. Young blacks (under 18) are more violent than previous generations and are 12 times more likely to be arrested for murder than young whites.

Nearly all the following figures, which speak for themselves, have not been reported in America:

According to the latest US Department of Justice survey of crime victims, more than 6.6 million violent crimes (murder, rape, assault and robbery) are committed in the US each year, of which about 20 per cent, or 1.3 million, are inter-racial crimes.

Most victims of race crime—about 90 per cent—are white, according to the survey "Highlights from 20 Years of Surveying Crime Victims", published in 1993.

Almost 1 million white Americans were murdered, robbed, assaulted or raped by black Americans in 1992, compared with about 132,000 blacks who were murdered, robbed, assaulted or raped by whites, according to the same survey.

Blacks thus committed 7.5 times more violent inter-racial crimes than whites even though the black population is only one-seventh the size of the white population. When these figures are adjusted on a per capita basis, they reveal an extraordinary disparity: blacks are committing more than 50 times the number of violent racial crimes of whites.

According to the latest annual report on murder by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, most inter-racial murders involve black assailants and white victims, with blacks murdering whites at 18 times the rate that whites murder blacks.
These breathtaking disparities began to emerge in the mid-1960's, when there was a sharp increase in black crime against whites, an upsurge which, not coincidentally, corresponds exactly with the beginning of the modern civil rights movement.

Over time, the cumulative effect has been staggering. Justice Department and FBI statistics indicate that between 1964 and 1994 more than 25 million violent inter-racial crimes were committed, overwhelmingly involving black offenders and white victims, and more than 45,000 people were killed in inter-racial murders. By comparisons 58,000 Americans died in Vietnam, and 34,000 were killed in the Korean war.

When non-violent crimes (burglary, larceny, car theft and personal theft) are included, the cumulative totals become prodigious. The Bureau of Justice Statistics says 27 million non-violent crimes were ommitted in the US in 1992, and the survey found that 31 per cent of the robberies involved black offenders and white victims (while only 2 per cent in the reverse).

When all the crime figures are calculated, it appears that black Americans have committed at least 170 million crimes against white Americans in the past 30 years. It is the great defining disaster of American life and American ideals since World War II.

All these are facts, yet by simply writing this story, by assembling the facts in this way, I would be deemed a racist by the American news media. It prefers to maintain a paternalistic double-standard in its coverage of black America, a lower standard.

I read and digested this article with the knowledge that Paul Sheehan is a conservative, Austrailian op-ed journalist...one that some folks will agree with, and one that some folks won't.

I read op-ed articles, both conservative and liberal op-ed articles, with a grain of salt. This article, however, I feel the need to empty the entire salt shaker on.

All op-ed journalists, op (meaning opinion) being the operative word here, write with a slant...it's their job. I read this article and felt less of a slant and more of a 90 mile an hour careening bus trip downhill.

Now that's a stretch...

And if Obama is getting slammed as an "Uncle Tom" by blacks because he is not an extreme racist, then it is by extremely racist blacks, which are just as dangerous and poisonous as extremely racist whites...and extremely racist hispanics...and extremely racist Asians. I truly believe that most folks, of all colors, are NOT extremely racist and try to distance themselves from those that are. I know that I do, and I think I'm pretty mainstream.

Alice, you are right. But at the same time we get the other extreme crammed down our throats too. Diversity has become the new name for EEO or affirmative action and they tried to disguise it. Divsersity.com never runs any feature on anyone white.

We can't forward a blond joke to anyone because it might get forwarded to a customer eventually who is offended. It is to the point in the work place that folks can't carry on general conversation for fear of Code of Conduct violation.

Companies pay off lawsuits because it is cheaper than trying to defend themselves in court. Corporations have plainly stated that they intend to pay no more suits. Now they fire folks who are blond and laugh at a blond joke. But blacks can say whatever they want to say and they can form "Diversity Councils" and advocate "Diversity" training.

Does your company require you to read this stuff regularly? Do you get "required reading" email notifcations?

If I read the left wing and right wing too, I get the view from both sides and don't agree with either.

I edited the post. I was talking about the silence that follows racist posts - not my challenges to them.

Of course you're entitled to your opinion, no matter how ignorant, hateful, or anachronistic it is.

Why would I want to kick your door down? Racist attitudes will eventually be extinguished without the need for violence. Racism has been on the decline for forty years, although you wouldn't know it by reading this board.

I just shudder to think at what an objective obeserver would think of rural people if they used this board as a ruler to measure them. I've fought ignorant hick stereotypes my whole life, but here in the Coffee Shop, many seem to wave them about proudly like flags.

As far as Southern Thinking goes, excuse me if I'd prefer to get my education on this by people like Eudora Welty, William Faulkner, Tennessee Williams, Harper Lee, John Kennedy Toole, and Martin Luther King.

I think their thoughts will probably stand the test of time a little better than the too common Southern Lack of Thinking too often displayed here by a vocal minority.

When I have the time, I might look it up...and I might not. It is not my job to prove his figures inaccurate. I do feel the need, however, to read the way the figures were slammed in there with obvious skewing by sensationalism and ambigous "surveys." Which is the reason I rarely give op-ed articles the time of day. Now, if the Justice Department issued this statement, I'd pay attention. Until this happens, I'll just stick with known facts that are presented without bias and emotionalism.

What you've written is true...I'll not argue it at all. It is a shame that what began as a general Code of Consideration towards each other has been picked apart and tweaked to serve different groups.

However, having been the victim of sexual harrassment in a seminary of all places, I do see the need for certain conduct codes and rules that cannot be ambiguous. I'm not unlike most folks...I think some things are silly until they happen to yours truly...then it gets serious. Just my 2 cents.

You are probably right. Now they (edit BADAXEMOO) is slamming the south and saying this is a "Southern Thing". I worked with a group of Engineers from Boston and New York. I was the only "Southerner" in the whole group. Let me tell you, no where in the south have I ever been around so many racists. I had worked in and lived in Birmingham, Mobile, and Thomasville, Alabama where tensions were high and those folks had nothing on the folks from Boston and New York.
