Till those udders cause me extra work we don't worry about it. That said i try and fix them with breeding where i can.

Thank you. I had never herd the term angus plus before. Would those girls have enough Brahman to help with the heat stress and fertility?
Anyone have recommendations on a black brangus bull to make females?

This bull sure catches my eyes, but I know nothing about brangus pedigrees.

Personally I don't like that bulls sire. A lot of people in the breed do though. My buddy up in Missouri has about 6 or 7 fall calves out of that 894C33 bull. He thinks he's the best bull he's used. I'm not sure how many more he has coming this next fall.
he's from foundation stock...gaurus said:The bull has a awful navel and is just begging a cow step on it and ruin your bull, I thought that the brangus breed had already solved that issue
u4411clb said:Not trying to make excuses for him what is being said about his navel is true and I accept that criticism. But to be fair the reason this bull was bought is to go in a herd with 2 angus bulls and put more Brahman back in the herd to make replacements in a herd that was Brangus based but over the years has gotten too Angus. So I will take a hit on his steers but his job is to make replacements that will be eventually bred back to Angus so by then those calves won't show nearly the sheath. In pictures he was not ready to fight and go in with Angus bulls so he was at my house with only 15 cows to learn the breeding ropes for his first time. And most of those in pics will go in main herd as replacements as well.
As Alacowman said Brangus puts a generation label on Reg Brangus and this guy is 5th generation which is rare. Meaning no Angus has touched this guys pedigree to be bred up to Brangus in 5 generations on either side.
