Anyone going to the Boyd sale this weekend? I've been pleased with their angus bulls in the past. Considering picking up one of their hereford bulls this year.

Anyone going to the Boyd sale this weekend? I've been pleased with their angus bulls in the past. Considering picking up one of their hereford bulls this year.

I want to go but it's quite a haul from my house up there. Inyati is pretty close to the Boyd's operation. Maybe he's going.

I haven't looked through much of the catalog but the lot 1 is sure impressive. He traces back to the dam of New Day 8005 which has been one of the foundation bulls of our herd. Sure wish I could get to the sale it should be a good one.

I picked up the catalog Tuesday at the Mayslick Mill (Hinton Mills who are providing the lunch at 11). I plan to go.

Rained all day (which made me feel better for loafing all day) during the sale, but there was a good crowd the bulls all looked really nice. Out of around 100 I could only pick out about 6 or 7 that I didn't like. The top bull (lot1) sold for $50k+, but a good bull could be had for around $5k.
