11-Year-Old North Texas Child Paralyzed by Enterovirus-D68

Friday, Nov 21, 2014 • Updated at 5:52 AM CST
A mystery illness that has sickened children all over the country has caused paralysis in a North Texas child.
The family of 11-year-old Bryan Sotelo, of Allen, was told he tested positive for enterovirus-D68 Thursay.

It looks like the mass media did not get the CDC's memo that entroviruse's and other viruses have been ruled out.
This illness is now called " acute flaccid myelitis" of
undetermined etiology.
Etiology means ( the cause or causes of a disease or abnormal condition )

2 paralysis cases linked to enterovirus seen in North Texas

" The CDC has also been investigating a possible link between EV-D68 and 88 cases of unexplained limb weakness and spinal cord damage that have been reported in 32 states since Aug. 1. There's no proof yet that EV-D68 was the direct cause of the two North Texas children's paralysis. "

Investigation of Acute Neurologic Illness with Focal Limb Weakness of Unknown Etiology in Children, Fall 2014

CDC Aug 1. to Nov 20, 2014
As of November 20, CDC has verified reports of 88 cases in 32 states.

These numbers do not include cases that went unreported or as far back as Nov, 2012 which is the first case reported that I can find.

IMO, that 88 cases being reported is really more around 200 +.
Not to mention those cases outside the US.
