Check out the online prices of leather cowboy boots with riding heels. I would not want to wade though ankle deep mud in $250-$350 in leather boots.
Personally, I buy knee high rubber boots from Walmart for $25. I replace cheap rubber boots about once a year because they develop leaks from barbwire cuts and Blackberry thorns.
