Chris Rock is a stand-up guy...he bore that hard slap and continued on doing his job.... speaking the entire night. Will Smith should have been escorted out and detained for the police and the police should have filed assault charges without Chris Rock's consent. At minimum held overnight in lock-up....to re-think things. He's forgiven. Many will forget what Will did and his life will move on famously....I won't forget. He's a reckless grown man (over 50 years old) with or without alcohol....he's probably got 20 years to fix himself up...it won't happen in 3 years. He'll be a threat to society until he's 70.

More Black on Black crime, such role models, resorting to public violence at the perceived disrespect of a joke on a nationally televised awards ceremony honoring Will Smith.

Meanwhile, black leaders like Whoopie Goldberg (governor of the Oscar committee) says no misconduct to discipline, because that's the way a man should respond if someone disrespects his woman.

I pretty much agree with that too. Denigrate my cows, my dog, my place, my old truck or me; fine.. but start in about my wife, that's line I won't let be crossed lightly.

I feel like this struck a little bit of a nerve being that Jada has some kind of illness that caused her hair loss. If she shaved it to be "fashionable", poke fun all you want, but you don't make fun of things people can't change.

A change of heart will do more for Will and we can only pray it will not take 20 years. I would like to hear him explain his actions

I couldn't have told you who any of these people were before this incident, or that the Oscars were showing. Something exciting had to happen to improve ratings.
