What's your Breed ?

Help Support CattleToday:

I make my own brindle composite breed based on swedish reds, piedmontese, and whatever hardy breeds with easy calvings i can find.

Piedmontese. More beef per carcass. Lean, tender, juicy healthy beef. My brother got me interested in the breed and think they have much to offer the industry. Also, I think they are beautiful and love their personalities. ;-)

Tarentaise.

They are very efficient feeders, a bonus on my small acreage, and are great mothers and milkers.

They make a really nice cross with Angus, which allows me to get a dark skinned cow AND avoid dehorning!

Hello 3P, When was the Mashona imported to the USA? they are a very efficient breed with the typical traits of the southern Sanga breeds.

I'm not sure. I think they came here in the late 80's .

Longhorn of course-lean beef, calving ease, low maintenance, great for crossing on other beef breeds and they certainly are eye appealing. I also love Horned Herefords, Beefmasters and F1 Tigerstripes.
