This is mine.....
Your Linguistic Profile:
45% General American English
30% Dixie
5% Yankee
5% Upper Midwestern
0% Midwestern

That 5% yankee must be rubbin off from all them yankees penetrating our lifes!!!! :p

70% of mine was general English with 5% yankee and 20% Dixie. Strange, I have lived in Texas all my life. I did major in speech in college. I was married to a midwesterner for 12 years. Now, when my husband takes this, it should be interesting. He's an Okie.

How do you pronounce that word for the charcoal you use in the BBQ? He says "Brikit" with the emphasis equally on both sylables. Cracks me smooth up! :D

I guess it's what I deserve for moving around so much:

Your Linguistic Profile:
60% General American English
15% Upper Midwestern
5% Dixie
5% Midwestern
5% Yankee

Needs a lot more examples to get a truer profile, but here's mine:

80% General American English
5% Dixie
5% Midwestern
5% Upper Midwest
0% Yankee

So from now on when you southern folks are going off on Yankees, I won't take it personally. ;-)

Words cannot express the joy I felt when I saw the phrase "The devil's beating his wife". My husband thinks I made that up. I have heard it all my life.

70% General American English

Been a Midwesterner all my life. Maybe it's a case of mistaken identity. I've always had trouble finding myself, in the mental sense of the word that is.

That was fun...

75% General American English

15% Upper Midwestern

5% Midwestern

0% Dixie

0% Yankee

I do think that some of the questions should have been "none of the above". Like the question about taking an easy class. I said "blow off", but I really might have said something like, "jock class" or "basket weaving", which is something we said when something was really easy to do. And I imagine that weaving a basket is pretty freakin hard! I sure cant do it.

When I was in HS, the slower classes were called CVAE math or english or whatever. I don't know what that stood for. We called it CAVE, as in CAVE math or CAVE english.

the one that made me scratch my head was the quetion about a rotary or a traffic circle, etc...color my dumb cuz i call them exits...lol

The only reason I thought of it was because of the Weatherford Traffic Circle.
