Ya might want to think about trimming some ear hair, too, a couple of them reminded me of a Papillon!

Nice deep, chunky girls. Good luck at the show and safe travels.

Super heifers. Do you leave their ears fluffy so they don't freeze when you get home from Denver? Best of luck with them at the show.

Don't kid yourself it will be plenty cold in Denver. 0 easy or worse!

Is the last one a Dun or is it just the light ?

Like them all - good luck at the show.

Thanks, she is a dun Galloway. Her sire is Black, her mother is a dun.

Hope all goes well. How many are you taking all together? 6?
I think you should have a good show. :)

We are taking 7. 2 full blood bulls, 4 fullblood heifers, and one 3/4 blood heifer for the percentage show. We don't have her clipped yet.

Very nice. I'm always impressed with your cattle. :tiphat:

Thanks, it takes a lot of work, as most of you know.

We cull the duds, and they sure do taste good. :D

How long does their hair get? 3-4 inches? How long does it take for you to get one animal clipped?

Galloways have two coats of hair. The undercoat is thick and dense with fine hairs about an inch long. The outer coat can be 6-8 inches, with some old cows having 12 inches of belly hair.

This past weekend two people washed, dried (2 blowers) and clipped (2 clippers). It took them about 8 hours for 4 head.

The results were great. They had never clipped Galloways before.
