I wouldn't classify them as big, HUGE would be more accurate, or at least very hard calving. Bulls llike this don't really have much of a place in the cattle industry except as steaks and burger. There are way too many bulls that will give you a moderate weight relatively easy birthing calves that have all of the other characteristics that would be normally selected for.

I know pure bred breeders that occasionally gamble on large bw, ww, & yw epds on bulls to cross with known calving ease dams. This is done to try to develop "curve benders". If this bull is placed on mature cows that you have confidence in, you will probably be okay, but I wouldn't take the chance.

What kind of cows are you putting them on?

WE HAVE THIS BULL ON ANGUS/BRANGUS MIXED HEIFERS AND COWS AND BRANGUS/HEREFORD MIXED COWS. WE WERE TOLD THAT HE SHOULD THROW AROUND 65 LB CALVES. WE HAVE HAD TWO HEIFERS CALVE SO FAR, ONE WAS ABLE TO DO IT ON HER ON AND THE CALVE WAS AROUND 85-90 LBS, THE OTHER HAD TO BE PULLED AND WAS AROUND 135-140!!!! WE HAVE REALLY BEEN WORRIED SINCE WE SAW THE FIRST TWO CALVES. THERE IS SEVERAL RANCHERS USING THE SIMMENTAL BULLS WITH ANGUS/BRANGUS CATTLE AND GETTING GOOD RESULTS.....GUESS JUST NOT OUR BULL.

I wouldn't go to that breeder even if they were giving bulls away!
