Nice and thick but probably not a calving ease bull. Rear end is his best point (not a hatchet butt).

You're right, he's not a calving ease bull.
I had used calving ease bulls for quite a while due to buying and selling heifers for bred heifer sales. I just used those CE bulls on the cows too, but now without need for multiple CE bulls, we can have a bull strictly for cows and one for our own retained heifers.
