Orchard Grass Succession ?

I planted a fescue based mix in 2014, and had it get burned bad in the open winter of 2014-2015. There less than 10% OG in the mix.

Now in 2016 the OG has filled in much of the field except for a low edge, where lime green fescue grows. Is OG that competitive, or is this an odd artic vortex outcome?

OG is pretty competitive!, and its a hoarder of nitrogen too

Has a much more dense root system than many grasses.
