New side x side

Help Support CattleToday:

We have had one for about 10 years or so and it has been pretty reliable. I don't let the boy go "4 wheeling" in it but for all around ranch work pulling a light trailer, and doing basic chores it has been great
I think that is the key to them, my grandson is not driving this one without me as passenger. Trouble I've had with CV's in my UTV and quad bike seem to come after he and his mates have been off in them. They seem to have an obsession with powering hard in a tight turn in reverse.

Got our new Polaris Rangers today. And Mr TC had them delivered to the workshop/barn area. Why???? Because he didn't want them to get dirty yet. Da hell?!? So, they're just gonna sit in the workshop and look pretty until after calving/rain/potential bad weather. Except we live in Kansas, where the weather can change day-to-day. Whatever, Sweetie, you do you. And we'll continue to drive or old ones (I just hit 505 hours) until they're sold, or we may keep one of them as backup for the kid that works part time for us. The dealer has removed the cheap netting "doors", we'll eventually switch out the gun boots, heated seats are a must on mine, and I highly recommend a winch.

What was the original purpose of the building in the back left hand side of your first picture?

Nice looking Rangers, my father in law has a tan one and I've grown to like it. Have you ever busted one of the glass windshields? We leave our plastic one in year round for the most part anymore and I've often thought a windshield wiper would be nice, just figured it would destroy the Lexan.

That's the old chicken house and now where we store small square bales. The original house was next to it and we dozed/buried it in 2007.

Knock wood, never broken a windshield. And I love the windshield wipers.

The tan ones are called Desert Sand. He almost always gets the camo.

Well here's mine, very basic but that's how I wanted it.
The trip to pick it up was dual purpose, I had an appointment with a cardiologist, a really nice, pleasant young lady to do a stress echo on my heart. The good news is that all seems well with it, I got a lot further on the treadmill than she expected so gave the heart a good workout and all was fine. I have an appointment with the respiratory specialist in May to see if he can explain my shortness in breath.

What brand of truck? Is that a snorkel on the truck, that's what we would call that here? I like that flatbed.

I like it.

Serious question: Do they sell vehicles down under in any color other than white?

We have one of the smaller Mules like that. Our dealer only keeps 1 part in stock for them so be prepared to never need another one.

I probably missed it somewhere but, how often do y'all get new SxS? Do you always get two of the same models?

Pretty much every 2 years. And yes, essentially the same but his has a winch, mine has heated seats. He had a radio once. That was enough. Even with his hearing aids, he had it cranked so loud he couldn't hear me - and I have a lot to say;). One year he got the doors/semi enclosed and I hated it! I'm in & out so much, it was a huge PITA, plus the dust that accumulated inside was epic. Fully enclosed with heat/air would be pointless for us (aforementioned in/out). And one year he got the Rancher Edition, which was a complete waste because our fences are pretty good and zero need to always carry around rolls of barbed wire, supplies, etc. Plus, it was red. Testosterone, much? And every 2 years because we need a write-off for taxes (especially starting this year when he has to start taking his RMD). BTW we do NOT trade them in at the dealer anymore because Kansas started taxing the trade as income.

It is a Toyota Hilux they are very popular work vehicle here, little brother to the Landcruiser. Yep it is a snorkel. I only bought the truck last year. I bought it sight unseen from a major online auction house, I guess I outbid a dealer, they were mostly ex lease vehicles from big companies it is a 2018 model with 122,000km(75800 miles) and I think it came from a mining company or earth construction, has had upgraded suspension but everything in the front end is still tight, it has been well maintained, 4 cylinder common rail diesel turbo and intercooled with 6 speed automatic, 4x4, hi/low transfer case and rear diff lock. I love it though I don't drive on the highway any more because of my eyes. It is a very capable 4x4.

Yes, off white as all of mine quickly end up. If bought new as a family vehicle as in the dualcab you get the choice of a full range of colours but vehicles like this that often have a previous life as a big company or government lease vehicle they most often are white.
