Hahaha. When I was younger I had one that was not bluffing. She didn't even let me get close. At about 10 days I could do anything to her calf.I was called out once!! Nope, im not fast and I only hurry for supper !
Like me you have gotten past the point of feeling invincible.Just because I met my insurance "out of pocket" last month doesn't mean I wanna take a chance.
Currently have a cow like that. She'll blow ur her nose in ur back pocket if u get too close first couple weeks. Afterwards, she's like meh. Calved About 2 weeks ago. She last calved in august, gained 1.5 mos this year.Hahaha. When I was younger I had one that was not bluffing. She didn't even let me get close. At about 10 days I could do anything to her calf.

And I don't play one on TV eitherYou ain't no cowboy.....
If that happens you are only hoping you have a "next year".The ones that are willing to run over their new baby to get you are crazy enough that they don't get to stay nxt yr.
I've only ever had it happen twice; one WAS a first calf hfr who calves in a really muddy spot. I put a feed sack on the calf so I didn't get as muddy carrying it to the barn. She ran right through her new calf and through me over a fence. She went to the feed lot and her calf got sold as a bottle baby. The second was an old cow this yr. She just reached over her calf and hit me. She's on thrill list for fall.If that happens you are only hoping you have a "next year".
