Huge Calf Born Here in Tennessee

Help Support CattleToday:

Funny part is that the angus folk are fussing so much.

Was there mention of how the cow was doing or did I miss it?

Cow didnt make it. Lived about a week post birthing.

"Case in point: Hoss' mom, a mixed-breed cow that had delivered six normal-sized calves before Hoss, did not survive the traumatic experience of delivering such a huge calf. She lived for about a week before dying last weekend."

What was SHE mixed with???

Wasnt this posted already on the breeds or beginners board by someone else already? Im just wondering if my eyes are deceiving me or if my memory is failing me or both.

yup, it was.

couldnt you tell by how big the momma was that she might be havin a bigger then normal sized calf. im sure she didnt look like she was carring a normal sized calf.

Thats really a sweet article, I like how the farmer at the end said he was getting accoustomed to the calf, something to talk about for a long time.

We've all heard that "Everything's bigger in Texas." With what I've seen of the baby calves and Crowder's taste in Women Folk - I'd have to say that Tennessee is in the lead in the bigger category. Or am I just misinformed, again?
