Thanks for all the replies. After FM's suggestion I ran out and bought some 8' and 10' post and had them in the ground fairly quick. Worked great. I could push the post in the mud easily almost past the plate, but got to good hard ground probably 3' deep. This is very unusual even in soft areas. We don't have rocks here, we have to make them like CB suggested. :lol:
