6 new calves as of Sunday…4 bulls, 1 female, and 1 not yet determined…should be able to get a closer look over the next 2 or 3 days…stuck in Galveston for the annual conference until tomorrow…3 days of torture by power point
The old oddball gray cow seems to be a helicopter mom...never lets the little stray very far before she follows.Better shot of gray bull calf…momma not thrilled with photo op
I'm a little late with a response but I prefer to decide when and where they fall...of course, mother nature often has other plans. You know the rule of trees?
They always fall to maximize damage and removal.
and #7 is a female...5 boys and 3 girls...so farHere's #7…female, I think…momma won't let me get very close…born to ear tag #25 early this morning
And the bulls got into it again…boys will be boys…I see a hot wire or two in the very near future
Good work. And here's the new piece of dinnerware for the girls - steel re-purposed from water line spool.
Yes…it is upside down…had a 4th ring in it but it didn't leave enough space for them to reach through and eat…I didn't account for the 6" feet on the bottom or the 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" square tubing…duh…and the little ones can get in after the hay is mostly eaten down…saw some in an old one the other day… they can get out easily enough while the wider space at the top makes it easier for the cows to eat more…I have some of the big black plastic ones…if the second one down was removed, they could get to the hay lower down wasting lessGood work.
Sooo - is it upside down? and you will be putting in more divider bars?? My calves would be right inside of that - even yearlings.
