We're heading SE in a few days. We are driving to Florida for no reason other than this is the first extended vacation we have had in 15 years that isn't tied to work or a farm organization. Last year I had to give up some PTO days as I din't have time to use them so I decided I wouldn't let that happen this year. We figure it will be 1500 miles and we will try to do it in 3 and a half days. Going we ant to slip over east a ways to the Smokey Mountains and on the way back to go west to New Orleans. Should be a good time.

You will love the Smokeys. Bring lots of money for whats on either side of the mountains. On the TN side is one of the best tourist areas in the east and on the NC side is the Cherokee casino. Either one will take your money.
If you are traveling down I-75 you will be very close to several on here.

I hope you have a safe and great time. If I were to take off and try to drive 1500 miles and consider it a vacation in 3 days, would need a week to recover once home!!
Hook, my folks live in Crescent City, Florida. Anywhere near you? Might go visit them next Thanksgiving.

The 1500iles in three days is just the begining we are going to swpen a week on the beach then head back at a slower pace.
