I apologize if the horse was supposed to have commented on the slaughter of his species. However, I stand firm on the belief that we must do something about the excess numbers of horses. I am a true lover of equines; but as a realistic horseman I realize that sometimes humans must "be cruel to be kind". This means that we must destroy the unwanted, abused, neglected, or maimed horses that are out there so that the pets, pasture ornaments, and using horses that are loved and taken care of can remain that way. I don't necessarily like the thought of horse slaughter but it is a better alternative than seeing loads of horses euthanized and pit buried because humans have no other option for them.
