Bull VS Bull !

Help Support CattleToday:

Thanks Caustic. The law has definately changed.

Seems the arrangement I have with my adjacent property owners works pretty good thus far, and we don't have to involve the sheriff. We simply do what's right.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure on this issue. I still think its best to keep my fences tough and high.

Last fall we had that situation, limo bull in pasture next door and brangus bull in with my cows..... well, limo bull ended up in my pasture (guess I'll know in Sept. which bull the calf is out of).

The only way we could keep him (limo bull) in his own pasture was run electric fence along the top.

To me electric fencing would be the best option, however, that's not saying they won't get into it a time or two anyways.

If your neighbor has an ornery charolais bull, you might want to consider letting him breed your cows.

1. You will save money by not buying your own bull

2. No jail time for you for killing someone elses' cattle.

3. No mysterious dead cattle of your own.

4. And you will have pretty charolais or charolais x cattle. :D

To me its a win-win situation.

That only works as long as the bull has no STD's - otherwise your herd is now in a world of hurt.

Bez!
