Are WE Offending You? Serious Post Please READ!

I want to ask all the other Board Members here if you have a problem with ANY of us that cut up and joke around, or display a sense of humor?
It's been brought to my attention, that myself and "Cohorts" are causing grief here, and that we need our own forum...Apparently some Politically Correct person does not enjoy the gift of laughter and humor.I feel it's our right to say what we want to say here, as long as no one is threatning someone, cussing or posting pornography, calling someone a racial name, or other serious infraction. Please share your thoughts with me and give me your opinions. Thanks.

P.S. There's a bunch of us that have gotten to be friends, and we enjoy razzing one another.

There has only been 1 time I was truly getting sick of a poster and her posts and thankfully that ToxicBimboLady is GONE!

Most of these guys are speaking in jest, and having some fun, it seems to me most of the time it is inside jokes between them. In our family it's called teasing, and there is always a whole lot of it going on. I haven't seen any of these guys tease in a hurtful way, well - except maybe to each other ;-) .

Before you can laugh at others you have to be able to laugh at yourself So I am guessing there is a WHOLE lot that these guys could be teased about also. And, I don't think that I have seen one of them get upset for getting a plateful of what they've dished out.

My vote - let 'em be, but I like the dry, satire, stupid humor these boys have to offer....

as stated in a prior post i basically enjoy the bantor that you guys toss around!
however the fat jokes are extremly discomforting to my wife who bless her heart reads the forums to try to understand more what i do!
she looks at me and say things like IS THAT WHAT YOU THINK?
and then the tears start which makes me angry! she cannot help the fact she is over weight is is glandular! what you think is funny, can and is demeaning to some people
so if i upset you by disagreeing so be it!!
to be funny at someone elses expense is no longer funny!
the fact you have become friends with other members of the board is commendable and i congratulate you for that!
not for myself but for ALL those that has somesort of disorder
a little is enough (most can take a small amount of joking) kind of goes with the territory! but sometimes enough is enough

Kind of split on this. Me personally you don't offend. If you did it would be so bad you would need to have something happend to you. On the other hand. Macon said it was not open for discussion, clean it up or go else were. I don't want to see you go. After all you are running for Pres.

I totally enjoy the bantering around, etc. What I don't enjoy are those that think they know everything (which they may well do), and then when a newbie or an oldbie, like myself, ask a question they are answered in a sarcastic dehumanizing way.
But since Macon got rid of Blackpower and a few others this practice seems to have pretty well worked its way off the boards.

So keep up the jesting, it helps after a long hard day.

Crowder, I have no problem with people joking around! Heck were just having fun here!!

The only problem I'm having with this is my wife usally has the computer at night. I can see now that I'm missing all the fun!

I can handle more than one conversation on a post at once. I also agree with the person who made the remark about BlackPowder... It's better now.

Got to go back to the other post to see if the posse has caught pappy1 yet... like changing channels only this is better then TV.

All of it makes me totally miserable. I come home in a good mood, then log on, read all of your problems, get totally depressed, kick the dog, shoot up the trucks, cuss at everyone that calls, cuss anyone who posts here, stay up all night with high blood pressure, make everyone around me miserable. And it is all your fault too. Just think, Jerry Springer could do a show on this if someone would get shot or something.

Seriously Crowder, Every good forum I have been reading for a while gets clouded by folks who get offended about something. Sometimes folks take things a bit too personal. Some of us laugh at them and eventually just quit reading their posts.

If I offend someone, hopefully they'll just ignore my words; offense is certainly not my intent.

Now those of you who are talking about muck in your pens or "problems" with a spring messing up your fence post, three feet underground, have to bear in mind that you are dumping some serious salt in the wounds for us drought plagued Texans.

I don't always read everything in the "coffe shop" or "everything else board", but what I have read, personally, has not offended me. Some stuff may seem rough sometimes, but I can choose not to read it, and I remember that it is that person's opinion/feeling/whatever and for now this is still a country where we can voice our opinions whether I agree with them or not. I know some folks don't always agree with me.
As for high-jacking threads, I've done that a couple of times myself and apologized for the infraction and have tried not to do it again. Sometimes when threads get off the track, other interesting info comes up as a result.
