My grass don't look that good in the spring. Why didn't you bale it?
I'm pretty anti-hay. I cut just enough for really nasty freezing weather or holding cattle in pens but that's it.

It's amazing what your grass will do when you don't take more than it can produce. Fert, hay, heavy grazing is a vicous cycle. I can show you that pasture two years ago when my uncle had it. He overstocked so then it forced him to feed hay and ground feed. A little rest and propper grazing pressure goes a long way.

The past couple months has been pretty good. Ryegrass and clover came up and took off after the freeze in November. Looks like it's Spring around here. Guess that ends tonight.
