A good medicine to break up congestion in calves..

Hi,

We have had a couple of calves with deep congestion to the point of where they can not breath and it horrible to try everything all to have them pass. We have a vet out twice a week and we are not getting any help. We give them an antibiotic such as Nuflor and change if they are not responding. Also Banimine for pain, dexamethazone (sp) and an expectarant (sp?) also we have a portable oxygen tank that we put them on. ... nothing is proving to be to sucessful, any suggestions on something that works?

What expectorant are you using

guifenisin is very effective, but its found in cough syrups or suddafed type caplets, see if your vet has some for animal use and find the dose required
