Yeah, 3000 fps for a 20 grain bullet is speedy in a 17 rimfire

Bought the Ruger when it came out but haven't had a chance to do anything with it.
Supposed to be quite a bit more potent and do more damage than the HMR.

Had one in the Savage but did not like the bolt. Just didn't feel right to me. It is a great shooter though. Very accurate and lots of power. Like already said over 3000 FPS in a 17 is a varmit getter.
Would love one in a Ruger 77/17. The $700+ price tag has held me back.

Hornady also came out with a 17 Hornet. Supposedly 3600+ fps. and you can reload them.

Isn't it something that when a "new" caliber comes out not only is the ammo crazy high but so is the price of the rifle.
