    Question about mineral rights

I don't own any b of the mineral rights on my place, but the previous owner has two natural gas wells on it. It doesn't affect me one bit. I would have liked to have bought the mineral rights, but by no means was it a deal breaker. You will be compensated for any loss of surface use and will...

Dairy cows with Eye Cancer pics

Your quoted sources are basically the guys at the local diner, a rancher and an anonymous butcher. I think I'll go with a vets opinion over your sources.

Fate of second year heifer opinion

I'm assuming he has cows to make money, and bred cows are worth more than open cows. anytime you buy a cow at the sale barn, you are taking a gamble. sometimes it pays off sometimes it does not. there's no way of telling by looking at a cow if she is a cull or if she is a dispersal.

Neighbors bull is dead he's saying it my bull that done it.

I'm pretty sure the ones suggesting that you pay for his bull were under the impression that you would determine with some certainty that the bull died during or due to the fight.

Um I don't even know what to say about this.

It appears all they're doing is knocking them off balance and then riding up on top to hold him down, it looks like an effective way to get the job done.

    Hanover trailers

I might be wrong, but I believe he is talking about a bar top with out a tarp on it.

    Beefmaster

He doesn't normally have a lazy prepuce, i thought about not posting the pic and getting a better one, but figured I'd post it anyways. His tail got stepped on by a cow when he was less than a month old. Other than some extra flies it doesn't seem to bother him.

    Beefmaster

The friend that i bought my bull from as a weaning, bought his first set of heifers off the Casey ranch. His herd came from those heifers and he's used Casey and Lasater bulls. He was about 26 months in the pick, he stays out with the cows, except for the three or four months after he was...

    Beefmaster

I don't know much about the specific beefmaster lines, but i researched the ranches the friend of mine got his cows from(lasater and casey). I've been impressed with what his calves look like out of my cows. He adds more bone and muscle than the angus or brangus I've had in the past on the same...

That's also been my experience with buying the cows.

buying calves and taking straight to sale barn

Its pretty common here. A guy i go to church with, goes to a sale everyday but Friday and Sunday. He might buy eared cattle cheap at tulsa then haul to mcalister(which is south of 40) where there is no dock. Or there are several small sales with less buyers where he might buy on Thursday night...

Yearling vs 2 year old bull.

If you wean at 7 months , and theyre ready to breed at 13 months, then you only have 5 months time in between.

    Corral Plans

I think the layout will work good for you, the only problem that I see right off is the gates to the pens after they go through the chute are hanging on the wrong post. unless I'm looking at it wrong and you have something else in mind. By hanging them on the other post they will open up across...

    Corrals on rented ground

It sounds like the corral will be more or less stationery, if that is so I would use the portable panels but just buy the heavier ones. ex: WW instead of priefert

Do you keep farm "cleaned up?"

I just keep a mental list of what i need to get done. i prioritize in order of importance and get them done when i can. If i were retired or even if my kids were older, the list wouldn't be near as long. God and family come before cows.
