What to cross with a Beedmaster for Terminal Cross

I like Charolais but with beef master cows I would think you will get some odd colored calves. Never done it so I don't know. For black calves, There are plenty of terminal angus out there and they are usually cheap. Most people won't buy an angus bull with 4 or more birthweight.

    My New SAV Bull

Very nice bull. Didn't look at his numbers but He looks like a herd builder to me. I wouldn't wait I'd go ahead and use him, but I try not to overload my yearling bulls, say 15 cows or so.

    Angus CED/BW for Cows

ideally every calf would be 80 pounds. Some will come bigger than 90 and I notice sometimes those ones seem a little slower to get going. I guess birthing is harder on them. Too big/too small both can have issues.

    Angus CED/BW for Cows

I have angus bulls with 0 to -5 ced and bw as high as 5 for use as TERMINAL on my commercial herd. I've found that at 50% or less accuracy the true numbers tend to be closer to breed average than the numbers would lead to beleive. Even if the numbers were true, these size calves are still not as...

    Angus bull thoughts.

I guess when it comes to making replacements , you could say I'm doing "fire and ice" matings in my commercial herd. My most fertile, trouble-free cows are usually smaller framed. I only keep replacements from those particular cows when they are bred to larger, growthier, higher $B type bulls...

    Angus bull thoughts.

That white we're seeing in the photo I think may be blades of grass out of focus in the forefront? Not positive. I like the looks of that bull ALOT., but where's his nutz? I also would be willing to bet high positive $EN and low ww, low $B. I bet he's not a great bull for making steers to...

    Purebred Angus bulls without papers

Funny how those who brag about working so hard and taking better care of their land and cattle than everyone else have so much time to post on here in daylight hours. We dont have time for that here not even in monsoons like today (and yesterday).

Ah I missed the key word "meatier" in your post. I see what you mean now. However I can't say I've ever noticed that in my herd.

    Purebred Angus bulls without papers

That's because she is a great mother. A bad momma cow will take care of herself first then let the calf get what's left. Those thin cows as long as they breed back (some don't) are money makers.

Forgive me.. I've tried to stay out of this bickering, but hearing Branded say how confident he is like we didn't already know that...... was just too funny.

    Purebred Angus bulls without papers

Branded, we are small but all our bulls are AI sired and bring 2000-3000 depending on age and depending some on DNA results. All our sales are with papers, DNA test, defect free, and good BSE. And our bulls look the part too, heavy weaning and yearling weights, good feet, the whole package. If...

    Big Momma Cows

Brook hill I agree with most of what you say here in this post. University's in tn the same way. But you can buy "real" bulls a lot cheaper than those lbw ce curve benders. Don't beleive me, go to one of the bull test sales and see what the +4 or +5 bw bulls with 0 or negative ce are selling...

    Big Momma Cows

I do during A I time and some around calving time for the ones I need to tag and weigh. Until I get tired of fighting them trying to get thru gates and have to beat them away with a stick.

    First heifer to calve

While I was making a post on the feed yard board just 30 min ago, I heard that bellering coming from the lot where the heifers are, you know that sound so I had to check and see. This is how I like them to come, no waiting, watching and worry. First of 9 heifers bred to right answer had a 60...
