Yellowstone Park is Closed

The Yellowstone River has gone out of its banks, and park it closed. Over the Memorial Day weekend they got a lot of snow. They had to rescue several travelers up on the Chief Joseph Highway. It has been some crazy weather.

Data from the U.S. Geological Survey, which tracks river flows and water levels, showed the Clarks Fork of the Yellowstone River was at the highest flood level ever recorded and that's using more than 100 years of historical data.

The rivers coming out of the park have reached the "wild and unscenic" stage. Going to take some time to make roads and bridges passable again.

I just saw a video from Red Lodge. Water pouring down main street. One has to wonder about all the other surrounding areas. The park will be hard pressed to repair all the roads that are washed out this year.
