We just weighed 8 yearlings (about average 375 days). They averaged 946# (range 905# - 1020#)

It also (imo) depends when they were born. Calves nursing during winter on cows just getting hay may not gain as much as they would nursing when the grass was green.

Ya got that right. I bet my fall calves are a good 100 pounds less than my spring born ones same age.

It was all bad.
She weighed less than 5oo. She was a year old this month. But she brought over 800 bucks! Not bad for a free calf!
