Stolen tailgate

95 year old neighbor died a few days ago. Her son asked me to watch over her place till they can do something with it. We have been parking one of our vehicles in her driveway everyday. Yesterday moved my duramax over there at 11:00 a.m.. Was going to go out to eat about seven last night and my tailgate was missing. I had been home all day doing taxes. Like my Dad said," no good deed goes unpunished".

Tailgates were hot items around here a few years back. Now I only hear of an occasional one that's stolen.

Hate to admit it, but this is the second one stolen . The other one was at the fire station. Bought a used one and bought a lock so they could not steal this one. Still under the back seat. Yeah I am a dumb butt.

It sucks. Go to a your local RV supply joint and buy one that's notched for a gooseneck. A helluva lot cheaper.

A simple water hose band will deter them it won't stop them but most don't carry a 5/16 in their pocket
