every time I plant squash or pumpkins the same thing happens.
It looks like it is growing well, blooms and puts on little fruits. Then the fruits shrivel up and die or rot. Someone suggested lack of pollination. Other things don't have a problem. Any ideas?

Does #6 on this list sound like what you're experiencing?

Definitely sounds like pollination failure. Guess I will have to pollinate by hand if I want any squash.

Thanks

I thought that if pollination didn't occur, the plant wouldn't even start producing fruit, yours is producing - they are just dying and rotting before they mature. :?: :?:

I have had the same problems with pumpkins. Never can grow them. I don't have problems with anything else. Finally got a good vine growing past year at the fence line by accident where we had thrown out several Halloween pumpkins. Had little ones on it and heifer discovered it and ate the whole thing!
