Square Bale Feeder

We just use a normal round bale feeder with a skirt around the bottom to feed small square bales and large rounds.If just calves are using it we drill holes through the braces about half way up and feed a cable all the way around to keep them from climbing into the feeder.

The welded cattle panels make excellent hay feeders if you make frames for them. We have a couple mounted to the side of the barn with hinges at the bottom and a chain on each end at the top. You can bust the small squares and throw them in. The cows can't get their heads in and pull big wads out on the ground like they do in rings. The busted bales sort of gravity feed as the cows eat.
