Help Support CattleToday:

Just once I would like to have a little pure brahma bucket calf, white (I think). Cold weather and common sense has prevailed thus far..

A few babies plus Roxie the barn mascot.

We had a mini blizzard here from 8:30 to 9:30 but then the sun came out and it is now up to 40 degrees at 11:30. The new snow is mostly gone. Yesterday's new calf (BWF) is snuggled down in the irrigation ditch out of the wind. One of the two new ones from today is on the feed row with mom (char calf). The twins from 2 days ago (to the left) are laying beside the ditch with a week old calf. Calves are popping out every day.

I had a prime heifer, a keeper, do this and got her leg hung up in the tight corner of the bars on a feeder at the bottom, identical to that one and broke her leg. I mentioned it locally and there had been several locals have the same happen. I trashed that ring and use only straight bar type rings. Be careful with those older calves.

This little guy was born right before the snow storm.

Calf sired by home-raised Angus bull. Grand sire GAR High Noon AAA# 17117101. The after birth thread
seems to be disappointing, so I decided to post a photo. I pulled this calf out of a heifer on Feb 28th. She is really tame. I held her in a corner with a crowding gate and the calf pulled easy. Her and the calf are back out of the barn today. On first night the calf tried to setup camp by the bale feeder. On Cattle Today I read that is a no-no. With ornery Angus 1500lb+ cows lurking about, both got put in the barn for their own safety.

Lazy M - I like the brown cow and baldy calf.
