What happened to the 8 officers that shot up the 2 old ladies in the blue pickup truck an a "tragic misinterpretation" ?
After a year long investigation, and a year's worth of being on paid suspension, the powers that be simply said "They violated departmental policyl".
And the Torrance police officer who shot at a different truck that same day? Not a damn thing will happen. No charges will be filed.

And now, Chief Beck has decided on their punishment. None. Nor will the 8 officers from LAPD lose their jobs.

Dispicable.

Gee--ya think? It took a year (till the public's attention faded?) to discover this? Way to go Beck--way to hold that Long Blue Line!!"Discipline could be anywhere from extensive retraining up to termination," according to Beck. "All officers involved have been assigned to non-field duty since this event occurred."
The two women were out delivering morning newspapers when they were shot. Beck said one of the officers mistook the sound of a paper hitting the ground as a gunshot and opened fire, followed by other officers also firing their weapons.
"This was a tragic cascade of circumstance that led to an inaccurate conclusion by the officers," Beck said.

"Although mistaken," the district attorney's report said, "McGee honestly and reasonably believed that Dorner was driving the truck.......Last month, prosecutors found that the officer was "justified in using force to stop the vehicle and in discharging his firearm" and declined to press charges.

High 5s all around!! Morons abound!LOS ANGELES (AP) — Eight Los Angeles police officers who mistakenly riddled a pickup truck with bullets during a manhunt for cop-turned-killer Christopher Dorner last year will be allowed to return to the field after they get additional training, Police Chief Charlie Beck said.
"I have confidence in their abilities as LAPD officers to continue to do their jobs in the same capacity they had been assigned," Beck said in a department message to officers obtained Wednesday night by The Associated Press. "In the end, we as an organization can learn from this incident and from the individuals involved."
Both the chief and an independent commission found the 2013 shooting that injured two women violated department policy. The seven officers and one sergeant could have faced penalties including being fired.
Dispicable.
